The Center

My blessings abound all around

I’m drowning in all the sounds

of praise in my heart

When I make you the center

I’m the winner every time

In rhyming lines I find

the grime that cakes my soul

all rolls away and in that place

I find my divine spirit longs to stay.

In everything I do I’m shown

Putting you at the center

promotes my growth

and so with great anticipation

I invite you in to current situation

prevent my sin and dwell within

my true and humble intentions

to relinquish control to extoll

your role in the respite of my soul

and to find in me the call

within a small voice

for that which only you can do

through me and along the way

I invite you to stay perpetually

within my free praise.

For what I am is because you are

no matter how far I may stray

please come to my center and stay.

When in the Dark

When all around I see

Darkness surrounding me

All I need to do is be

In your presence constantly

–

I have traveled far and wide

Felt your spirit deep inside

But to ease my troubled mind

I just think of why you died

–

You rose again

To release me sins

You are the light

That breaks the night

I enter into 

Your presence when you

See me there in the Dark

–

Though sometimes I find it hard

I know you’re with me in the dark

Somebody said, how great thou art

Of your royal line I am a part

–

Now in this quiet solitude

I seek your face with gratitude

Because I know you’re with me through

The dark times when others flew

–

And never will the darkness prevail

I can trust your promise; in never fails

–

You rose again

To release me sins

You are the light

That breaks the night

I enter into 

Your presence when you

See me there in the Dark

In Your Arms

I don’t know why you decided to save me

What higher purposes might I achieve

I’ll never know how great a strength is within me

Until in surrender I come to believe

No earthly mind can begin to imagine

Wondrous miracles still yet to be

But when I consider your notion of justice

Humble gratitude takes hold of me.

In your arms, I am home

In your light, my goodness shows

On my knees, before your throne

You hear my pleas, I am never alone
